Job Summary
This entry level position is responsible for marketing and commercial risk management, credit analysis, and trade control activities. This role involves managing and accessing commercial risks, conducting credit evaluations, and ensuring compliance with trade control protocols.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and managing commercial risks associated with trading activities and market exposure
- Conduct credit analysis to assess the financial health and creditworthiness of counterparties
- Support trade control functions by ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports, highlighting key metrics and potential areas of concern
- Collaborate with traders, risk managers, credit analysts, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and decision-making
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of trades, contracts, and credit assessments
- Assist in the development and maintenance of risk management models and tools
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required by senior management
- Participate in projects aimed at enhancing the Middle Office’s processes and systems
- Stay informed about market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory developments affecting the oil and gas sector
Job Specific Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate financial data
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and reporting
- Basic understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and risk management principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with data visualization tools is a plus
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- High level of integrity, accountability, and a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to the fast-paced, ever-changing environment of the oil and gas industry
Education
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Marketing, Business, Economics or related field
