Job Summary

This management level position oversees all investor and analyst communications, and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant disclosure of financial, operational, and strategic information. Partners closely with senior leadership, Finance, Corporate Planning, Legal, and Communications to shape and deliver a clear, consistent equity story aligned with company strategy and performance. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the IR team; set priorities, allocate resources, and provide coaching, development, and performance management
  • Develop and execute the IR plan and messaging framework in alignment with corporate strategy, capital allocation, and ESG priorities
  • Oversee preparation and quality of investor communications, including earnings materials, investor presentations, fact books, Q&A scripts, and messaging for conferences and roadshows
  • Lead planning and execution of earnings calls, investor days, capital markets events, and major investor/analyst meetings in coordination with executive leadership
  • Direct the collection, validation, and interpretation of financial and operational data (production, reserves, capital programs, costs, ESG metrics, etc.) for inclusion in IR deliverables
  • Ensure all IR communications and disclosures are accurate, consistent, and compliant with applicable securities regulations and internal disclosure controls, working closely with Legal/Compliance
  • Monitor equity and debt markets, analyst reports, investor feedback, and peer performance; synthesize key themes and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Manage relationships with sell-side analysts, institutional investors, rating agencies, and other capital market participants
  • Oversee content and updates for the IR section of the company website and other IR communication channels
  • Prepare briefing materials and key messages for executives’ investor interactions; support executive participation in conferences and roadshows
  • Contribute to capital markets strategy, including positioning on commodity price cycles, capital allocation, balance sheet strength, and long-term strategic initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements, tools, and best practices to enhance IR efficiency, analytics, and reporting
  • Support crisis and issues communication from an IR perspective, ensuring consistent and transparent messaging to the market
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Specific Skills

  • Deep understanding of financial analysis, capital markets, and valuation concepts, with significant experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Strong knowledge of upstream and/or downstream operations, reserves, production metrics, capital programs, and cost structures
  • In-depth experience with public company disclosure practices and relevant securities/market regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to craft clear, compelling investor messaging and present to senior stakeholders and external audiences
  • High proficiency with financial modeling tools, spreadsheets, presentation software, and IR/CRM platforms
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; proven ability to work closely with Finance, Planning, Legal, Communications, and executive leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams, developing talent, and driving high performance
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to synthesize market intelligence and investor feedback into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex deliverables and events under tight timelines

Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Accounting, Finance, Petroleum Engineering, Geology or related degree

Experience

Minimum: 8 years related work experience
