Job Summary
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Acquire and utilize knowledge of industry processes/codes to ensure quality standards are being met
- Ability to read and understand basic drawings, codes and procedures in order to inspect for conformance
- Inspect completed/in-process work and procedures utilized within the facility
- Schedule tests and inspections
- Audit the quality processes to ensure they function effectively and efficiently
- Maintain accurate and organized/detailed documentation in a timely manner
- Adhere to Expand’s waste management plan
- Must be able to comprehend and retain new policies, procedures and methods/techniques used in the office and field, being flexible to work in a changing environment. Must show progress/advancement in their skill level and application of knowledge
- Learn how to respond to problems by troubleshooting, diagnostic testing (utilizing computer software as applicable), and repairing/adjusting equipment as needed, conferring with co-workers and supervisors for advice. Learn to determine the most cost-effective/timely/efficient method for repairs
- Accurately report time in accordance with work performed
- Operate vehicles in accordance with company policies and procedures in a safe and courteous manner. Current, valid drivers license is required to operate company vehicles. See policy for specific details
- Employees must follow IT’s policies for Internet, Intranet and E-mail Usage along with Office Services procedures for proper usage of cell phones (calls received/sent and text-messages received/sent as applicable)
Job Specific Skills
- Understand basic mechanical equipment, fabrication piping and vessel components
- Intermediate level comprehension of wiring/piping schematics
- Know how to operate overhead cranes and forklifts
- Working knowledge of arithmetic and algebra. Basic knowledge of geometry and other mathematical applications
- Intermediate knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
- Basic knowledge of welding, modern engines and compressors used in the natural gas industry preferred
Education & Experience
Minimum: High school diploma or GED and 2 - 5 years related work experience or an equivalent substitution for education of 6 - 9 years related work experience
Preferred: Vocational or technical training - In related field
Additional Qualifications
- Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge / experience with ASME (Sect. VIII & B31.3) inspection and welding requirements
- Understand mechanical equipment, fabrication piping and vessel components
- Ability to read and follow fabrication drawings. Including but not limited to ISO’s, GA’s and P&ID’s
- Demonstrate basic to intermediate computer knowledge through effective use of a company computer (when applicable) including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applications
- Know how to operate overhead cranes and forklifts
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
- Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts
- Working knowledge of arithmetic and algebra. Basic knowledge of geometry and other mathematical applications
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment focusing on teamwork and unity.
- Employees must know how/where to access information.
- Able to function effectively as part of a team to accomplish assigned tasks
- Ability to assess and anticipate requirements. Prioritization, reasoning and time management skills required
