Job Summary
The Facilities Engineer I at Expand Energy is responsible for designing and managing facility construction projects within the company’s field development capital program and supporting field operations. This position will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes facilities engineers, drafters/designers, I&E engineers, and engineering technicians. Key responsibilities include championing process safety, following established project management processes to execute field development plans, providing engineered facility construction packages, supporting construction, and ensuring facilities are constructed according to scope, schedule, and budget. Senior facility engineers will be assigned as mentors for this position.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Interfaces with engineering, field operations, and other supporting departments to assist with Business Unit facility design and construction programs, including financial forecasting, detailed vessel and piping design, scheduling, equipment procurement, construction support, and performance lookbacks (operational and financial)
- Assists with the creation of Scope of Work documents (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, 3D models, C&E, etc.), RFQ processes, and ensures the quality and timely delivery of facility engineering deliverables
- Coordinates with midstream providers for third-party pipeline connections
- Conducts closed vent system analyses by utilizing existing models and partners with the HSER team to ensure facility compliance with air standards
- Champions process safety initiatives by participating in process hazard analyses (PHAs), risk assessments, and the Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) process
- Provides excellent customer service to field operations, maintenance, construction, and engineering teams, ensuring that facility safety, operation, and reliability meet all expectations
- Leads facility engineering aspects of corporate development program for assigned area of responsibility, including manager technical review (MTR) presentations, AFE creation, and quarterly capital forecasts
- Ensure capital development project success by collaborating with subject matter expert (SME) Facility Engineers and linear asset (pipeline, EDS) execution teams
- Monthly field travel is expected to train and gain rapport with field personnel. Travel expectations will decrease to every other month once training is completed to maintain relationships, oversee ongoing projects, and plan future projects

Education
Minimum: Bachelor's degree - from accredited university
Minimum: One of the following:
Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) program, or
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or
Master’s degree - from accredited university - Master’s of Engineering degree from a program in which the correlating Bachelor’s degree is accredited by the ABET EAC
Experience
Minimum: 0 - 2 years related work experience
Additional Qualifications
- Oil and gas production operations
- Process simulation (ProMax, Aspen HYSYS, etc.)
- Pressure relief systems
- Pipe, valve, and fitting types and pressure design requirements
- Process piping code fundamentals and applicability
- Electronic flow measurement, SCADA system design/implementation, and other communications media used in transmitting data from the RTU
- Process control design, implementation, and troubleshooting
- Applying learnings and recognizing opportunities across regions and operating areas
