Pad Construction Specialist

Job Summary

This specialist level position operates a variety of power tools and other equipment involving physical labor at construction sites in order to assist in safe and efficient operations of the site.

Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within a 60-mile radius of the Mansfield Field Office (1970 Highway 84, Mansfield, LA 71052) to be considered for this position

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee the staking of locations with surveyors and adjust pads and roads as needed and construction staking
• Work with environmental reps and contractors to make sure we have all proper permits required to construct locations, pad expansions or roads
• Works with land reps to make sure that we meet landowner requirements
• Coordinates the controlling of traffic near, in, or around work zones
• Coordinates the determining construction material needs, ordering materials and scheduling delivery of materials
• Cleans or prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
• Direct and supervise contractors building locations, access roads, drainage systems and related infrastructure
• Ensures all codes are followed during construction to meet spec and design criteria
• Works with team members to set expectations and standards for contractor performances and ensure they understand and follow all Expand's environmental, safety and operation standards
• Oversee installation of erosion control measures, fencing, signage and containment systems
• Mentors and trains less experienced construction technicians

Job Specific Skills

• Advanced knowledge of materials, method and tools involved in the construction of structures such as highways and roads
• Advanced knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of the people, data, property and institutions
• Strong ability to monitor operations and situations to ensure Q/A, QC and compliance with safety policies and procedures
• Safety
  • Lead daily safety meeting and enforce company safety standards and contractor compliance
  • Perform site hazard assessments and ensure corrective actions taker
  • Verify that all contractors meet PPE, training, and procedural requirements
• Strong ability to read and interpret manuals, policies, procedures, permits, governmental regulations, engineering plans, maps, job specifications, reports, and correspondence
• Scheduling and Reporting
  • Track project progress, milestones, and contractor hours
  • Communicate daily updates to Construction Foreman/ Manager
  • Document work completed and project cost

Education & Experience

Minimum: High School Diploma or GED and 12 years or more related work experience or an equivalent substitution for education of 15 years or more of  related work experience
